Welcome back or welcome to our October course for Intermediate dancers!

Every month we will embark on a new dance or series of dances that we will perfect over the course of 4 weeks. We do not offer drop in lessons outside of the summer months as it is much more fun to have a full dance or routine perfected at the end of the four weeks that we can dance to the music where you feel confident in your dancing.

Our 4 week Intermediate Irish Dance Course is the perfect middle ground for someone who is returning to Irish dance after some time away or has completed the beginners course first. This course is for someone who knows the beginners dances but wants to learn some more heavy dancing and advanced versions of reels, slip jigs, heavy jigs, hornpipes and more. All classes are based around fun, fitness and you can go at your own pace the entire time.

Here, we focus on technique, the core intermediate dances alongside traditional set dances and some bonus performance style dances too. You are eligible for this course if you have learned all of the beginners dances in the beginners course or already have a general idea of heavy dancing (trebles and stamps). If you are torn between intermediate and advanced, I would recommend starting with intermediate and then progressing into the advanced class when you feel ready to do so. I always say that it is best to perfect the bones of your craft first to prevent any bad habits.

What do I need?

Comfortable black clothing, Irish dancing shoes (optional but preferred), trainers, water.

I can’t wait to dance with you and have you join the IDP Community!
